150519 ~ In Honor of Jen Young

"CrossFit, and especially competing in CrossFit, has trained me to accept what I can’t control. I don’t pick the daily WOD, I don’t influence who else shows up to compete, and I certainly can’t do much about their performance and eventual score. Fretting about what others are doing (or what has happened to other people with cancer) won’t help me to do better. Whining about a workout won’t change it, and no amount of moping is going to make my cancer disappear.” - Jen Young

It has become a tradition at Canuck to run Hero WOD's on Saturdays as a break from our regularly scheduled programming. Cancer and it's many faces has touched all of us. This WOD today has been named after Jennifer Young.....a hero who lost her battle to a rare form of Cervical Cancer on Sunday evening.

Her battle was inspiring, In it's midst, Jen established the "Love the Snatch" foundation which raises funds for Cervical Cancer.  Jen's presence was seen at many CrossFit Competitions, where she would be busy working her booth selling T-Shirts to help the cause. She has been a staple in the Canada East CrossFit Community.

If you own a "Love the Snatch" tshirt....please wear it today in Jen's honor.
