“3…2…1…GO! There is something to be said when you hear that clock go off with the loud beep! It is time to put your all-in and get the WOD done!

Prior to joining Crossfit Canuck, I hadn’t stepped one foot into a gym in over 10 years. Mom life kept me busy, but I knew I had to change. It was time to focus on me and my health! One morning in 2015, I happened to turn on the TV to my regular breakfast show and saw Crossfit for the first time. I immediately looked up the closest Crossfit Gym to my home and called for my intro class. Little did I know, that one simple call would change my life for ever. The enthusiasm the coach had, and the history around Crossfit grabbed me instantly. I knew then, this is what I wanted to try. I’ll be honest with you; I felt like I was going to die after my first class! I couldn’t walk for days, but it was the kick it the butt I needed to get going.

I began with the Sweat60 classes, then realized I could do regular Crossfit classes. Yes, the workouts can get intense, and some of the movements can be difficult, but they can be modified based on skill level and abilities. Who would of thought I would every do Weightlifting in my 40s?! I do that too! I love that there are a number of options at Canuck and that there is direct Coach training.When people say Crossfit is addictive, listen! Not only do I try to get into the box 5 days a week, but my son does as well!
